While at the University of Pennsylvania he was a member of the varsity tennis team. He earned an MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.

He had become the former director associated with fundraising and additionally executive committee member of MindsMatter, a New York City based charitable organization for underprivileged high school students. He functioned as event chair for the New York City Police Foundation, the sole private organization that raises finances for the NYPD. Alex Crisses is also supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation
