Alex Crisses, via his work at Insight Venture Partners, focuses primarily on internet and infrastructure software investments. He’s a Principal at Insight Venture Partners (Insight). Established in 1995, Insight is an entrepreneur-focused investor. The Company invests in expansion and late-stage software, data-enabled and Internet businesses. Mr. Crisses works together with, and provides support to, entrepreneurs and management who are attempting to expand their businesses in the most effective possible way. He invested in Shunra Software, an organization that’s the industry-recognized authority in Application Performance Engineering (APE) and a pioneer in WAN Emulation. In addition, he invested in GFI Software, an enterprise that produces sturdy, award-winning Information Technology (IT) solutions for small and medium-sized firms.

Alex Crisses obtained his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School. He is a George F. Baker Scholar from this academic institution. Leading up to receiving his Masters in Business Administration , he graduated out of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton. Furthermore, he was the recipient of the school’s Highest Honor. He makes use of his acumen and skills gained from his academic studies to make prudent investments in progressive and innovative infrastructure software and internet organizations.

Alex Crisses has practical business experience in the field of investment banking. He worked at Credit Suisse First Boston’s Global Energy and Power Group as an analyst prior to joining Insight Venture Partners in 2002. In addition, Mr. Crisses was a GFI Software Board of Directors member. He also served as an observer on the Scriptologic Corporation Board of Directors. His business experience proves beneficial to him in his business endeavors, such as in his leadership role in Insight’s investment in SolarWinds, Inc. SolarWinds, founded in 1999, is a foremost provider of Windows-based network discovery, network monitoring, and network management software.

While devoting significant effort to his business commitments, Alex Crisses also makes time for charity endeavors. He is an advocate of the projects that NYC-based Minds Matter engages in. Minds Matter is a charitable organization for high school students who are underprivileged. This charitable institution helps students who have achieved academic success in high school, prepare for advanced education to help promote their careers in the professions of their choosing. Mr. Crisses was formerly Minds Matter’s Director of Fundraising and Executive Committee member.
